90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days alum Chidi Ikpeamaeze’s rocky relationship with Rayne Fernandez was highlighted in season 7, and it’s time for an update on him. Chidi and Rayne were the first couple to have their storyline end in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 7, as they parted ways broken up and on a sour note. Chidi, who is from Lagos, Nigeria, is blind in both eyes. He is the franchise’s first blind cast member. He didn’t tell Rayne about his sight impairment for fear she would lose interest, but it turned out to be the opposite.

Rayne, who has body consciousness issues, was happy to hear that Chidi couldn’t see, because it made her more confident in her appearance. In Lagos, Chidi lives with his sister Victoria, her husband, and their kids. Chidi’s sister supports Chidi, and is his number one caretaker. Chidi does do things independently as well. He is part of a soccer team for the visually impaired, and he has learned to cook certain things on his own. It Ended Badly

90 Day Fiancé‘s Rayne went to Nigeria in Before the 90 Days season 7 after carrying on a five-year virtual relationship with Chidi. Rayne, who has two kids, had very “out there” views about aliens and religion, and it was very off-putting to Chidi at times before they met, and especially in person. Chidi, who took a vow of celibacy without telling Rayne, let her know they could not sleep together upon Rayne’s arrival to Lagos, which greatly upset Rayne, because she claimed Chidi alluded to them being sexual when she talked to him before meeting him.

Rayne was able to accept Chidi’s celibacy, but things fell apart over Rayne’s ill feelings for Victoria. Rayne had a vision that she would not get along with a significant other’s sister, and she made that premonition come true. During a family dinner, Rayne slammed Chidi for being breastfed by his sister, and condemned their familial attachment.

Rayne left Victoria’s house and wanted Chidi to come with her, but he did not. Upon their final meet up, Rayne had another epic blowup at Chidi, with more talk about how detrimental his sister was to their relationship. Rayne left Nigeria broken up with Chidi and heartbroken.

Chidi Is Trying To Restore His Vision

He Started A GoFundMe

Chidi lost sight in one eye when an apple fell on his eye. He lost sight in his other eye after he hit it on the corner of a table after losing his balance because of his original impaired vision. While Rayne was in Nigeria, she did pay for Chidi to see an eye doctor to determine the status of his sight, as he had not been to an optometrist in years. Chidi was told bad news, as he had cataracts and glaucoma that would make it nearly impossible to correct.

However, Chidi is determined to get a second opinion outside of Nigeria, and he has started a GoFundMe to go to America to consult with a doctor and hopefully improve his eyesight.

“Recently, we learned about the exceptional doctors and advanced treatments available at a renowned Eye Specialist Institute in the United States. This center could provide Chidi with life-changing medical advice and potentially restore part of his vision, offering new possibilities for the future he has always dreamed of,” wrote Victoria about the GoFundMe premise.

Rayne Holds Resentment

Chidi has not spoken out about having disdain for Rayne after the show, but the same can’t be said for Rayne. Rayne harbors a lot of resentment and is vocal with her venom towards Chidi. Rayne puts alleged text messages she still received from Chidi on blast, and calls him out as being a liar. Rayne is very salty about how things ended, but has not taken any responsibility for her volatility or the part she played in the downfall of their relationship.
