The wait is over: Janelle pushes lawyers to fight the property dispute! A Battle Breaks Out…

Polygamous reality star Kody Brown‘s long-running legal battle with his former “spouses” Meri and Janelle Brown has taken a furious new twist as the trio continues to duke it out over a shared piece of land in Coyote Pass, which they purchased back in 2018 when they were all still “married.”
In the most recent episode of his hit TLC series “Sister Wives,” Kody, 55, hit back at his ex-wives’ claims that they are owed an equal share in the 14-acre Arizona property—insisting that he invested far more money in the land than they did, thereby entitling him to a large piece of the pie.
“We didn’t pay for Coyote Pass all equally,” he claimed in the Jan. 26 installment of his show. “I paid for an entire lot all by myself, at least 92% of it.”
The land in question was purchased for $820,000 when Kody was still in a relationship with all four of his “sister wives”: Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn.
However, in 2021, Kody’s relationships with three of his four wives began to crumble—and over the next two years, Christine, Janelle, and Meri all called time on their romances with him. Only Robyn, the one woman to whom he has ever legally been married, remained with him.

But while their relationships blew up in shocking fashion, the women remained legally tied to their former spouse as a result of their shared property investment, which has been the source of an increasingly furious feud between them.
Christine ultimately chose to sell her piece of the land back to Kody in a privately arranged deal, having told those closest to her that she did not want to remain linked to her ex in any way.
However, Meri and Janelle both still hold a stake in the land—and have repeatedly criticized Kody for refusing to give them any insights into what he plans to do with it.
Now, after months of back and forth, the two women have taken their fight to new extremes, with both revealing in the Jan. 26 episode of “Sister Wives” that they have chosen to seek advice from lawyers over how to handle the battle moving forward.
During a call between the two women, Meri says of Kody’s claim over the land: “I don’t think you get to decide what we do with it. Sorry you are not the head of my family.”
Janelle then tells her: “I think it is time for somebody to be pushing my interests. I probably will get a lawyer. In fact, I’ve been talking to one. I hope you feel like that for you too.”
Meri confirms that she is on the same page, responding: “I do because it has been a year and half since I’ve had that conversation with Kody.”
She adds in a one-to-one with the camera: “There’s been a lot of confusion surrounding the way things have been done in the family, the way that Kody is with me and has been with me for many, many years. So I think I am going to get a lawyer to help me through this process.
“I feel like for quite a few years I’ve sat back and just not wanted to ruffle feathers so I haven’t pushed the issue on many things, but I will push the issue now.”

Meri’s decision to pursue legal action comes after she claimed in a previous episode of the show that Kody had told her she was not entitled to an equal share in the land because she’d only had one child with him, while his other wives had conceived multiple kids.
The land was purchased in four parcels, with Kody taking a share in all four of them—however, all of the plots are of varying sizes and were split between the women in very different ways.
For example, Kody, his current wife, Robyn, and his ex-wife, Christine, all had a share in the largest plot of land, per TLC, while Kody and Janelle split another, smaller plot. However, after ending her marriage to Kody, Christine arranged a deal with him in which she gave up all her rights to the shared property.
Kody also splits a third plot—the smallest of the four—with Robyn, while the fourth is split between him, Janelle, and Meri.
This means that of all the wives, Meri was given the smallest allotment of land, approximately 2 acres—a decision that she has now claimed was made purely because she conceived fewer children with Kody than his other spouses.
Meri shares son Leon Brown, 29, with Kody, while Janelle and Christine each share six children with him, and Robyn shares five.
To make matters all the more complicated for Kody, his sole remaining spouse, Robyn, has also voiced her doubts about getting rid of Coyote Pass, telling the cameras that she has “always” loved the property and finds it “hard” to even think about “letting it go.”
“Robyn and I haven’t really synced up,” Kody says of their differing opinions on what to do with the land. “We’re in different places, and it’s an in and out. It’s like sometimes I want to keep it, sometimes I want to sell it. And Robyn knows we need to sell it, but sometimes wants to keep it.”
