1000 Lb Sisters celeb Amanda Halterman has reached her significant weight loss goal following her gastric bypass surgery. Recently, she celebrated her milestone with a new dramatic makeover. While the reality series mainly focussed on Tammy and Amy Slaton in the early seasons, Amanda is now getting attention too. She has joined her siblings in the weight loss journey to better health.
Like her other two siblings, Amanda’s weight loss journey has been a transformative one. Although she was previously the slimmer in her family, her situation changed after marriage. Reality TV star Amanda Halterman and her sister Misty Slaton Wentworth opened up about their decision to undergo weight loss surgery. After coming to Season 5 of 1000 Lb Sisters, both the Slaton sisters had the surgery together on the same day. Since Amy, Tammy, and their brother Chris underwent the procedure, they knew the risks Amanda and Misty were taking.
With family’s support, Amanda and Misty both had their bariatric surgeries in March 2023. This wasn’t Amanda’s first surgery as she previously had bariatric surgery in 2014 and that too when she didn’t join TLC. After her first surgery, she lost more than 300 pounds. But eventually, she regained her weight. Since her latest surgery, she has lost a significant amount of weight as she looks fully transformed.
1000 Lb Sisters: Amanda Played Around With Her Style!
For the first time, Amanda Halterman took some time to decide on her new look. In July, she shared some TikTok photos of her different looks. With the help of an app, she explored contrasting hair colors and styles. Some of the trial pictures showed the 1000 Lb Sisters recurring star with vibrant shades of blue and pink.
There was also a photo where she looked totally different as she had long, wavy hair. Amanda recently posted another TikTok where she discussed a close family friend, showcasing her updated look. She has trimmed her long hair to a sleek, probably shoulder-length style. Although Amanda didn’t disclose the exact amount of weight she has dropped, her transformation is visible.
It is making Amanda look like a completely different person. After seeing her, some of Amanda’s fans think that she is in her classic era. Since she faced her share of challenges in 1000 Lb Sisters, she deserved the makeover. With Amanda’s kids having grown up and no longer living with her, she has rightly shifted her focus on herself.
In Season 6, Amanda had a major showdown with both Amy and Tammy. However, she began her weight loss journey along with them to lose the extra weight. Despite never facing lifelong weight challenges unlike her siblings, she gave priority to losing weight.
